The West Ridge Trail, a 4.5-mile out-and-back route in Aliso Viejo, California, is celebrated for its breathtaking vistas and year-round accessibility. This moderately challenging hike attracts bird watchers, hikers, and mountain bikers, creating a vibrant spot for outdoor enthusiasts.

Getting Started

Parking is available in a nearby residential neighborhood at 65 Hollyleaf Road, Aliso Viejo. Though part of the Aliso and Woods Canyon Wilderness Park, the trailhead lacks an official parking lot, so plan accordingly.

The trail begins with steady inclines and limited shade, making sunscreen, hats, and ample water essential. Starting our hike at 10 a.m., we felt the sun's intensity, but the occasional ocean breeze brought welcome relief.

Spanning over 25,000 acres near Lake Buena Vista, Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is an entire universe of theme parks, hotels, and shopping centers. With its own roads and transportation system, this magical destination offers a unique experience nestled in the surrounding woods.

Seeking the perfect spot for his ambitious eastern resort, Walt Disney chose this largely undeveloped area for its proximity to major highways like the I-4 and the Florida Turnpike.

Disney World has been enchanting visitors since the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971, followed by Epcot in 1982. Over the years, four more parks have been added, culminating with Animal Kingdom in 1998. The Getty Villa is located in Pacific Palisades near Malibu. The building is a replica of the Villa Dei Papiri, a Roman country house that was buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in A.D. 79. The buildings and surrounding Roman-style gardens transport you through time, allowing you to experience life as a wealthy merchant in ancient Rome. The architecture of the Villa is designed to resemble an archaeological dig.
