France

France Eiffel Tower by Tristan Nitot - WikipediaIn starting my exploration of France, I discovered that France and its worldwide territories encompass the largest economic zone in the world - with many islands and enclaves.

This expanse of land makes France rich with history, culture and amazing natural wonders.

I started my journey in the Alps region but planning to visit all the regions in the coming years.

Fort Walton Beach

Florida Emerald CoastFort Walton Beach is a small beach town located on the Emerald Coast with beautiful silver sand beaches and emerald waters. It is a major tourist attraction and gets very busy during the summer months.

If you plan to visit during those busy months, you need to make your reservations months ahead of time.

The weather in the Emerald Coast is warm most of the year, with a few rare cold days during winter. The last time it snowed in this area was in 1977.

While talking about Walton Beach, I am including Okaloosa Island, Ocean City, and Niceville because they are all interconnected.

The try-city area is surrounded by several Bayous, the Gulf of Mexico, lakes, creeks, and inland forests.  While staying in Fort Walton Beach, we enjoyed visits to the beach, parks, major attractions like the Gulfarium, hikes in the forest, and great dining experiences.

Astra Lumina

Astra Lumina - Palos Verdes - CAI am always looking for out-of-this-world experiences, but unless I win the lotto and go as a space tourist, I have to make do with closer-to-earth excursions.

When I heard about Astra Lumina, a magical night walk through a botanical garden with lights and sounds of visiting stars, I had to try it.

Through the magic of projections, lighting, and music, astral energy transforms the garden into a celestial pathway, connecting visitors to the stars and the vast world around them.

Egypt, Ancient and Modern

Egypt - Cairo - Pyramids with a CamelIn March of 2023, my wife and I decided to embark on our long-awaited journey through Egypt.

We have always wanted to visit this Arab country to experience its culture and history. So we booked a two-week tour to places like Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Edfu, Aswan, Sharm El-Sheikh, and ancient monuments and temples like the Great Pyramids, Sphinx, Karnak, and the Valley of the Kings.

In the following pages, I will share our impressions of this country, its people, and its past, and some advice on where to go and what to do.

Santa Ynez Valley, California

Santa Ynez Wine tour - photo from Sustainable Tours websiteDuring our recent visit to Santa Barbara, we decided to explore the wine country in the Santa Ynez Valley. We booked a full-day tour with Sustainable Wine Tours.

Our guide, Karina, picked us up from our hotel in Santa Barbara at 10 am in a luxurious Mercedes van, setting the tone for a day of indulgence and exploration.

Interesting Facts: The Santa Ynez Valley is geographically unique as it runs east to west rather than the typical north to south. This orientation creates distinctive growing conditions that support a diverse array of grape varieties.
