Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach

Aquarium Of The Pacific Giant Whale The massive, life-sized blue whale suspended from the ceiling of the Great Hall immediately sets the stage for the scale of the adventure ahead. This 88-foot model serves as a breathtaking introduction to the Aquarium of the Pacific, where the mysteries of the world’s largest ocean are brought to eye level. Switzer Falls

Switzer Falls California - at the poolWalking through this gully in the San Gabriel mountains, it is hard to believe I am still in drought-stricken Southern California.

Right from the start of this hike to Switzer Falls, I can hear the sounds of running water and birds declaring their contentment with this hidden nature enclave.

The trail starts from the Switzer picnic area in the Angeles National Forest and is about half an hour drive from downtown Los Angeles.

Hoover Dam Tour

Hoover DamHoover Dam is a 45-minute drive from Las Vegas, so you can carve out a few hours and visit this engineering wonder on your own, and we did that many times.

But to get a different perspective and let someone else do the driving, I decided to go with Comedy on Deck tours for a VIP experience that included a visit to the new bypass bridge, the power plant, the visitor center, and a hot lunch.

The tour started with a pickup from our hotel, and we had to endure four more pickups before we were on our way. Our guide entertained us with jokes and a running commentary about Vegas and Hoover Dam.

WNDR Museum San Diego

WNDR San Diego - Entrance The WNDR Museum in San Diego is an immersive art space that combines technology and creativity to engage visitors through interactive, multi-sensory exhibits. Located in the vibrant Gaslamp Quarter, this 14,000-square-foot museum invites guests to fully explore and participate in the art, offering a refreshing break from the traditional museum setting.

From the moment I entered, I was greeted by a beautiful light floor that responded to every step, casting glowing patterns that shifted as I moved. It was a fun and exciting introduction, setting the tone for the museum’s playful and innovative design.
